Considering reasons and explanations presented earlier, the 2013 International Conference with the main theme “Advancing Collaborative Strategy for Achieving Excellence” is conducted to attain the following objectives:

Considering reasons and explanations presented earlier, the 2013 International Conference with the main theme “Advancing Collaborative Strategy for Achieving Excellence” is conducted to attain the following objectives:
- Facilitating representatives of higher education institutions, the government, and the industrial sectors to come together in exchanges of perspectives of academic excellence and discus the kinds of strategic collaborations needed for the attainment of academic excellence.
- Supporting and promoting various efforts of technological transfer and mutual best-practices of strategic collaborations among members of ASAIHL.
- Finding and formulating various stages for higher learning institutions in the effort to minimize the negative effects of globalization.
- Exploring further the effectiveness and the efficiency of ASAIHL for the member countries.
Main Theme & Sub-theme
The wide spectrum of collaborative strategies involving the government, higher learning institutions, and industrial sectors could produce various layers of cooperation. However, these collaborative strategies could touch on the following four sub-themes which are in line with the main theme of 2013 ASAIHL international conference: “Advancing Collaborative Strategy for Achieving Excellence”. The four sub-themes are as follows:
1. International Curricula: Standardization vs Harmonization
2. Academic Mobility: Creating co-op education
3. Research Collaboration: Matchmaking research with industry
4. Sustaining academic publication
Meanwhile, for the students forum, the main theme is “Students of the World” .They could pick one of the following sub-themes:
1. The role of student associations
2. Endorsing student mobility
3. Expanding Student Networking
Presentation Format
Oral presentation in three different sessions:
- sessions of keynote speakers
- plenary sessions (invited speakers)
- parallel sessions (country and delegation papers)
- students presentations
- Three papers of Keynote Speakers, each representing higher learning institution, government and industry.
- Four papers of selected invited speakers, one for each sub-theme.
- Country Paper for each sub-theme from each member country of ASAIHL. Every country paper should get endorsement from its National Coordinator of ASAIHL.
- Delegation papers from the higher learning institution members of ASAIHL. Delegation papers should get approval from the leader of the institution it represents.
Oral presentation in three different sessions:
(1) Sessions of Keynote Speakers
(2) Plenary Sessions (Invited Speakers)
(3) Parallel Sessions (Country & Delegation Papers).
